Troy learned to fish and hunt early in his life, passions he continues to pursue today. He played football (was an offensive guard), was a state champion on his high school's rifle team, and was such a good student that he graduated a semester early.
Troy has never been afraid to try new things and because of his willingness to stretch his boundaries, he's collected a lot of different skills that he employs in his life now. He's an excellent cook, thanks to his experience as a short order cook. He is sought after for his ability to wire the neighbors' garages and barns thanks to his training as an electrician. He can fix any odd rattle, hum or grind that a car is making after spending years in a car dealership, and when making his own soft serve ice cream cone, he finishes with the perfect swirl top thanks to his former job at Dairy Queen (a very useful trick to know).
Troy taught himself to play the bass guitar and is now in a garage band playing blues and rock music with blues roots. He's rarely without his IPod or IPhone and on occasion, he will sit in front of a YouTube video rehearsing a new bass line with which to impress his band mates and groupies, which at this time consist of the guitar player's wife, the guitar player's two Great Danes and Toni.
Troy can fix anything and loves to do home improvement projects around the house (with all due respect to the former owners of the house, there are a lot of home improvements that can and have been made to bring the home from the 1970's into the 2010's). Hardwood floor installation, tongue and grove planking on the ceiling, tiling the floors and counter tops...nothing is too intimidating for him.
Troy uses nature to calm him after stressful days and it isn't unusual to find him floating on the lake with his fishing rod in hand or sitting high in his tree stand watching nature.
